I am runnings Windows 2000 Prof. When I tried to download Real player Basic for some of my school work it starts downloading and then about a third of the way through the download process I get a error message. The message says: Rundll32.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created. What does this mean and how do I fix it. I really need the Realplayer program to do my school work.
thanks, Bill

Hiya

Does it say which program caused it? There should be a details button which may come up with a message like

Program caused a general protection fault in Rundll32.exe

and are you certain it was .exe?

Regards

Yes I am sure it said rundll32.exe. I went to real.com and tried to download it again and it got about 40% downloaded and gave me the same message. The exact message as stated above. And it shut down the download but did not shut down the internet it just took me to my home page.
Goofy huh!!!

When I tried to download real player there were several other real downloads attached. This I did'nt notice before. I clicked on the download for real player alone and it downloaded. I still don't know why it didn't work the other way. Oh Well!!!!!

Thanks, for your help
Bill:rolleyes:
