I'm running XP on my new machine, and was able to set-up single click for the mouse inside the programs, but I'd like to be able to single click on my desktop icons like I could in win98. Is this possible?

    brianF,

That is where the mouse control panel is in XP too, but there are no options to single click. You can change pointer styles and dbl click speeds, and all the other stuff but I can't find where I can set up single click for my desktop icons... :(

Look in Folder options, not Mouse options. It's there in the General tab.
