    SOLVED!!!

I downloaded and tried to install the latest windows critical update.. It seems to download and then won't install.. Now on start up I get errors... vnetsup.vxd .. vredir.vxd. dfs.vxd and then unable to load dynamic link library msnp.32dll
Can anyone tell me how I can fix this?

    thanks

    Hi Ruthie,

If the first files you mentioned are reported as missing, you can restore them from your Windows CD-ROM.
Here's a useful article: How to extract files in Windows 98 and Windows Me

As for your Msnp32.dll error, do the following:

Go to Control panel, Network, highlight Client for MS Networks,
click remove, reboot, go back to network, click add, click client, select C for MS Net and you're done.
    Keep your Windows CD-ROM handy.

    Good luck,
