Somehow my zip files call up win amp when I try to unzip them. Can someone please tell me how to disassociate win amp from zip? I have a bunch of pictures from my daughter in Europe and I keep getting my win amp player everytime I try to open them. This has also happened with things I have downloaded from the 'net as well. Help, please!

    Welcome to TSG.

In Windows Explorer highlight one of the zipped files. Hold the shift key while right clicking it. Select “Open with” and find your zip program in the list. Make sure the box that says to always use this program to open this type of file is checked. That file type will always open in the zip program.

Thanks for your help. Actually, right-clicking and shift did not give me an "open with" option, only an "open" which did no good at all, obviously. You did get me thinking about what might have happened though so I opened the "add/remove" window and, to my horror, I discovered that I had no zip program there! Some past problems may have resulted in it's disappearance, who knows? Anyway, I installed a new one and the items I had been trying to unzip are now unzipped! Thanks for heading me in the right direction.
