Hi,

I hope I am in the right place to ask this question.
First off, I have Windows XP.
Now for my question. When I go to "My Pictures" and start scrolling through them my computer will restart. I have used my anti virus to scan all my pictures and no virus was found.
Can anyone help me please?
Thank you:)

Let's see what is running on your Pc - by posting a Hjt log.
Once you post it - I will ask a Trusted Advisor to check it for you.

This may look hard to do but just follow the instructions - if you have any questions, just ask.

Download Hjt log from here..
Hijack this 2.04
  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
  • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

That is just the top part of the log.
When it opens in notepad - copy and paste all that it contains.
Edit>select all>edit>copy - then paste.

Are your pictures in the folder in Thumbnail view?

If they are, try changing the view to Details or List instead. It'll take less memory and CPU.

If that's not enough, you'll need to trim down your many running processes and startup programs.

Ok - good job done.
I will ask someone to help you with the Hjt log.

While you are waiting - they are offline at the moment..
Post the un-install log from Hjt log program.

Start the HijackThis program again.
At the bottom right hand corner>under Others stuff
Click on Config.
Then Misc Tools.
Then Uninstall Manager.
Save List>paste the list in your next post.
