Please I need help to recover my external 1T HD data lost. After I used to create a Windows 10 installation media tool, explorer shows me a unit of 32GB and used only 3.1 GB for the installation media tool.

Hi and welcome to TSG. I believe that the software for creating a bootable Windows 10 installer on an eternal USB hard drive first formats the hard drive. You could try a free data recovery program like EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free to check the reformatted drive for recoverable files and attempt recovery.

Your 1T HDD was most likely formatted using a FAT32 configuration that only supports a maximum HDD configuration of 32GB. The bad news is that the added 3.1 GB of files may have overwritten sectors on the HDD that contained some of your files.
