my parents deleted Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business from our comp. (a compaq presario 5242). thing is, i doubt they know how to fully delete it from the hardrive. i went to control panel, Add/Remove Programs and it says access denied. i was gone for a few days when they did this, so i have no idea of the extent of damage they did. all i wanna do is read a letter a friend sent me through AIM and i cant because of this. how can i get access to restore the program?

Doesn't sound like you have the necessary admin rights to do it. Looks like you need to get your parents to log in and then either get them to give you admin rights or work with them while they're logged in.

In the meantime, do a search for winword.exe and create a shortcut of it on your desktop.

A follow up on this problem would be nice.
