I've never found any file extension restorers for 98/ME. System Restore looks like your main hope. What happens when you try to run it? Can you run regedit at all?

Did you try TweakUI as suggested in your other thread here: http://forums.techguy.org/windows-95-98-me/750555-help-everything-word-document.html

Version 1.33 of TweakUI can be downloaded here:http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/tweakui

Were you able to get to the File Type tab in Folder options and delete the EXE entry (if it was there)?

Are you saying you can't run any programs? They all bring up the Open With dialog?

You might be able to run System Restore by following these steps:
How to Start the System Restore Tool from a Command Prompt

Are those files the ones with an .EXE extension?

If this is true, download and add to registry (double-click) the following patch:
    http://filext.com/Win98_EXE_Fix.reg

After successfully adding to registry, restart the PC and test.

    Good luck.
