I am getting all the signals and error messages that my registry needs to be restored. I called Microsoft and they sent a new Windows 95 recovery disk. I have not been able to restore my registry and Microsoft wants $45 to tell me how to do it over the phone. I'm not a total dummy when it comes to my computer, but I really need help with this one, PLEASE!

Welcome to TSG snookum. Unfortunately you have only slim pickens when it comes to restoring the Win95 registry. You can restore the last successful registry or the very first. If Windows has been starting, the last successful registry will probably contain the same faults as the current one.

If you restore the very first registry, system.1st, then you will have to reinstall all subsequently installed programs.

What are the error messages referencing the registry that you have been getting? Some of them may be the result or ram faults.
