Ok I know the answer is likely a no, but is there a way to restore windows without a restore point or windows disk?

What's the brand name, model name, and model number of your computer?

Most factory brand computers(unless they're several years old) come with a built-in system recovery partition so you can revert it back to its original factory condition.

Dell PP18L Couldn't find model name. It's an older laptop that my mom got me for my B-day its refurbished and was set to not do system restore points.

System restore and reinstalling Windows are 2 entirely different things.

What problem are you having and what exactly are you wanting to do?

    ----------------------------------------------------------

PP18L is not a model number.

What's the 7-character service tag number that's on the sticker?

Service tag number 6ZJJKH1 is assigned to a Dell Latitude D630 laptop.

I personally have bought 2 of those laptops in refurbished condition from www.newegg.com.

Bought of them came with Windows XP installed and a hidden restore partition to revert them back to their original refurbished condition.

A black screen should briefly appear during startup that gives the choice of loading Windows or restoring the computer.

If yours is refurbished, there should be 2 Microsoft COA stickers on it with the Windows version and 25-character product key.

What's the Windows version on the original COA sticker, and what's the Windows version on the refurbished COA sticker?

I didn't advise you to submit the product key.

I advised you to answer my question about the COA stickers.

Please edit your last reply and then remove the product key before someone here sees it and uses it illegally.

It appears that Windows Vista was installed in your laptop when it was refurbished.

You did not receive any Windows Vista DVD with it?

Are you seeing the option to do a restore when you start the computer?

You haven't answered the 2 questions in the last 2 lines in post #11.

I'm assuming that "Windows Vista Business OEMAct" is on the original COA sticker.

OEM is the acronym for Original Equipment Manufacturer.

Is the same Windows version shown on the refurbished COA sticker?
