Antivirus: Windows Defender, Disabled

At the end of June I had a problem with my USB connected HP Laserjet and after being advised to download and install the latest driver I have not had any problems until today when I was back to really slow print download, abour 4min to download and print an A4 sheet.
I clicked on the USB Controllers in Device Manager and after then clicking on GenericUSB Hub I got the following message
Last Device Instance Id: USB\VID_03F0&PID_5C17\6&189f3c2c&0&2
Class Guid: {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}
Location Path:
Migration Rank: 0xF000FFFFFFFFF100
Present: false
Status: 0xC0000719

HP EWS UPD (the Printer driver) Events I got the following message
Device USB\VID_03F0&PID_5C17&MI_01\7&323d6f79&0&0001 requires further installation.

USB Printing Support I got this message
Device USB\VID_03F0&PID_5C17&MI_00\7&323d6f79&0&0000 was configured.
Driver Name: usbprint.inf
Class Guid: {36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}
Driver Date: 06/21/2006
Driver Version: 10.0.18362.1
Driver Provider: Microsoft
Driver Section: USBPRINT_Inst.NT
Driver Rank: 0xFF2002
Matching Device Id: USB\Class_07
Outranked Drivers:
Device Updated: false
Parent Device: USB\VID_03F0&PID_5C17\S142HG3

Where Generic Hub message it states Present: false or in theHP EWS UPD it states requires further installation or in the Printing Support it states Devise Updated: false could any of these be causing the return of my problem?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you Lunar but I tried your suggestion and that seemed to cure the problem but three days later the problem returned so I went back to the Device Manager and the messages had reverted back to "false" "requires further installation" "false". The next morning the computer ran extremely slowly so I re-set the computer and booted up from a System Image backup that I keep on an external HD and everything seems to be working well. After saying that I told a local techie about the problem and he had I look at the computer and said"Your HD sounds like it's on its way out, that could be your problem" so I am now looking at installing a solid state HD.
