    The following will disable the desktop right-click, and also Explorer right-click, so I'm not sure it's what you want - is it one particular context menu item you want to disable?

    Copy the code below. Open Notepad and paste it in. Save the result in a suitable location as desktop-disable.reg - making sure that the default .txt extension doesn't appear in the file name (Save as type = All Files).
    Double-click on the saved .reg file to merge the contents.
    Log off and log on.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoViewContextMenu"=dword:00000001
    The following code will undo the above (enable right-click) - save with a different name:

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoViewContextMenu"=dword:00000000
    The following code will disable the right-click context menu for all users:

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoViewContextMenu"=dword:00000001
    And the following will enable it:

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoViewContextMenu"=dword:00000000
