I have a 700s Gateway with two 256Meg PC1066 RDRAM sticks and want to upgrade to 1G.

Can I remover the 2 RAMBUS sticks and install another less expensive but like performance type of memory in the 184 pin slots?

Or must I use RAMBUS only?

Thanks

You must use Rambus, different memory types are not interchangeable. Since you already have a 512MB then you could just buy two sticks of 256MB for another 512MB for a grand total of 1GB. Thats assuming you have 4 slots with two continuity sticks in them.
