    Hi
With XP I just inserted a CD and clicked on rip from CD and it would put the music from the CD direct into my music library
This does not happen with Win 7
Please tell me if I am doing something wrong or can it not be done on win7 64bit
    Regards
    Rex.:)

Phantom, it's perfectly legal to rip your own CDs. Let's not classify everyone as a criminal.

I'm all for valid copyright protection, but this forum is getting out of hand.

I wasn't refering to you, DH. I myself believe it's reasonable to make copies for your own personal use. However, I've known people who had a lot of personal reasons to rip CDs or DVDs...

The law is still very vague about it...

It all depends on whether the CD is copy protected or not. Windows Media Player will not be able to rip a copy protected CD. Using special ripping software to break that copy protection would be more questionable, even for personal use... I don't see many CDs or DVDs nowadays that aren't copy protected... If authors copy protect their work, I don't think they approve of those "personal" backups either...

I'm thinking that if the Music/Video industry had any control over the Auto industry ..
You would not be able to drive the new car you just bought ...
Because you might use it to make an Illegal withdrawal from a Bank.
