I would like to make a crossover cable. Should I crossover each of the pairs?

I would also appreciate any explanation on how the 4 wire pairs on a RJ45 cable are used.

    Thank you.

The signal pairs are Pins 1 and 2, 3 and 6, so at a minimum you would cross 1 with 3 and 2 with 6, making sure that you keep the twisted pairs together.

For full EIA/TIA 568 compliance, you should wire the other pairs straight through: 4 and 5, 7 and 8.

    Wire the cable as follow:
    or/w, or, gw, bl, b/w, g, br/w, br
this should be left to right with clip DOWN.

Do the same color for the other end BUT with clip UP.
