You will drive yourself nuts with the alerts

Let the router do its thing silently - most attempts are harmless

If you are truely paranoid the add a software firewall like ZOne alarm

ZA has blocked over 47,000 enevts for me but I do not have it tell me about it

I realize this, but I only get alerts about once every few weeks. I realize theres always something knocking on my door trying to get in (or atleast there should be), but when I get a message like this it makes me think it issomething more than just a normal attempt. Know what I mean?

Zone Alarm and a router will hide you really good and you can turn off getting pop up alerts.

    Go here and run ShieldsUP!

    http://grc.com/zonealarm.htm

Get Stealth on all ports your be doing great and achieved a perfect "TruStealth" rating then no one knows your PC is even there.
