hi.i have the linksys by cisco wrt610N router. when ever i set it up it works like a charm,,, once i install a password on it, it allows me to connect to the networks and for the first few minutes it lets me connect to the internet then it blocks my internet connection and blocks my access to it, so i have to reset it again to be able to access the settings page.

    troubleshoot the issue

ping the gateway when you don't have access. Successful?
    ping the wan ip. Successful?
    ping yahoo.com Successful?

Where its not successful is where the problem resides.
Make sure any software firewalls are turned off so they are not the issue.

I only drop by when I am between jobs or done with my work.

I see you mention enabling encryption on your wireless link but no mention of setting your wireless access up with encryption.

Do all the tests complete if connected via a wired connection?

What encryption level [wpa. wep, wpa2..] are you using?
