Ok, I just networked my 2 computers together with a Linksys BEFSR41 v2. I have had DSL for about 4 months prior, and I would get about 40 kb/sec transfer rate when I download. I thought that was great having had Dial up.

Now since I have hooked up the router, I get 120 kb/sec on both PCs! How could this had made a difference. I thought adding one more thing for the connection to go through would at least slow it down a little, but instead it has tripled.

    Anyone know what's going on?

    I'm not complaining, just curious.

I'm going to guess that somewhere along the line your MTU got optimized for DSL connections. :)
