:( I have a 1 year old compaq presario using windows XP. I've been going to a web site game forum to play games, when suddenly I cannot get to the web page anymore no matter what. I've tried everything I know...deleting cookies and temporary files, deleting my ISP software and reinstalling it, even called my ISP's tech support, went through every process they had, reinstalled their software from there, deleted and reinstalled my IE, and other software, then restored to the day before I lost ability to go to the web site. I spoke to the administration of the web page and haven't been banned for any reason. They even tried to help me get on as well. I tried their mirror address, and still had no luck. When I ran a trace route, it keeps coming to a stall at www.alter.net. Also, the admin at the web page game forum says others are also being blocked at www.alter.net . I want to know if there is a way to fix this problem. I doubt anyone at www.alter.net will listen to me or all the others that have been stalled out at www.alter.net as well. Here an an exerp from the emails I've had with the game forum admin.:

Honestly, I have no idea. The problem is entirely at ALTER.NET. It's
happening to people in Scandinavia and Australia and anywhere else they
have to route through ALTER.NET to get to RPoL. I'm trying to find who
    to
talk to, but they're not especially helpful.

    Hi Feyda,

I have had a similar experience to this with another website. Basically you need to avoid that router, which is almost impossible for you with your ISP, country location and destination. You need to change one of these variables to approach the Website through another router (assuming that the Alter.com router is a router and not hosting your Game website!). What worked for me was using ONSPEED. You need to pay but I found ONSPEED servers went a different route. Alternatively, and cheaper, I suggest you sign up to another ISP as well. They will almost certainly have different servers and hence probably different routings will be selected when you go to the web page. You can select which ISP you use by specifying within your Dial Up. It sounds a lot of hassle, and it is not a guaranteed fix, but I can't see any other way around this until Alter.com fix the thing.
