Just an FYI, the new password rule has been updated and it now reads as follows:
Bypassing Passwords/PINs/Access Codes

We would not want to help someone gain unauthorized access to a device or website. Posting hacks or cracks to bypass forgotten or unknown passwords, PINs (Personal Identification Numbers) or any other type of access code is not permitted. However, it may be possible to give advice on methods made available by the vendors/owners of the software or service in order to regain access.
So basically anything that Microsoft allows (and not the answers forum because it's not even monitored by Microsoft) or the owner of the software/service allows will be fine. There may be some cases that aren't black and white though so if in doubt feel free to report them and the Moderators will evaluate those situations but for the most part, anything that looks shady or is from unauthorized sources wouldn't be allowed.

Thank you to those who continue to keep an eye on things for us. We do appreciate it because we can't be everywhere all the time. :)

Here's a summary of the changes. The input for the sources and methods was contributed by TerryNet, TechGuy and Macboatmaster.

As of June 5, 2020 the password rule has been rewritten so that we can provide assistance to solutions that are acceptable as long as they are not to shady or unauthorized sources. Basically, anything to a Microsoft support site or from the vendor/owner of the software or service is acceptable. Here's a summary of what is and isn't allowed which is not necessarily all-inclusive:

Don't advise:
  • how to bypass (or crack) a forgotten or unknown password
  • how to access data that is protected by a login password
  • How to remove a PIN using unofficial methods
Do advise:
  • keyboard possibilities (defective, Caps Lock/Num Lock on, case sensitive, etc.)
  • how to reinstall an operating system when a login is not possible
  • when using a Microsoft Account (instead of a local account) make sure there is no Internet access and then try the last successful password
  • Linking to an official Microsoft method of using hidden accounts and other known techniques
  • Forcing the computer to reboot normally rather than via safe mode (and preserving the PIN) using a command like bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot
  • to get help for a BIOS password from a reputable computer shop
