rundll and bxxxs5.dll errors

Hello. I am not sure what has happened to my computer but everything including hardware (e.g., CD-Rom, my external hard drive, etc.) don't seem to be working well and the computer keeps freezing. I keep seeing messages upon start-up that say things like: CTNotify.exe is not responding, Windows was unable to load bxxs5.dll, and rundll errors. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix these problems? I'm not all that sophisticated with computers; I do have Norton Antivirus.
