RUNDLL error - HijackThis log file

1K views 9 replies 2 participants last post by  MFDnNC
#1 ·
Hello, I'm getting three RUNDLL errors on startup. Two are for j0241630.dll and one is for yekklcdn.dll. I downloaded HijackThis and ran it, and this is what it came up with, but I don't know how to read it or what to do from here. I think this is causing my games to freeze since the two problems started at the same time, but I'm not sure.

You may want to print this or save it to notepad as we will go to safe mode.

Fix these with HiJackThis – mark them, close IE, click fix checked

DownLoad http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip or
http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/killbox.exe

Restart your computer into safe mode now. (Tapping F8 at the first black screen) Perform the following steps in safe mode:

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Now put a tick by Standard File Kill. In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confimation to delete the file. Click Yes. Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\qefxjdbh.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\yekklcdn.dll",realest
C:\WINDOWS\system32\j0241630.dll

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not exist. If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you don't miss any.

START – RUN – type in %temp% - OK - Edit – Select all – File – Delete

Delete everything in the C:\Windows\Temp folder or C:\WINNT\temp

Not all temp files will delete and that is normal
Empty the recycle bin
Boot and post a new hijack log from normal NOT safe mode

Please give feedback on what worked/didn’t work and the current status of your system

Well the RUNDLL errors on login are gone, so that has to be a plus. I haven't had a chance to play a game yet so I still don't know if it's going to freeze or not, I'll have to get back to you on that. Hopefully it won't. Thank you for your help.

Here's an update. I started playing my game (The original starcraft if it matters) and as usual, when I beat the level the game freezes, so I have to ctrl+alt+delete out of it. I tried running HijackThis to get a logfile, but even HijackThis freezes when it's almost done and before it creates the file. So it seems this problem wasn't connected to the RUNDLL errors, but now I don't know where to look for a problem.

This is going to make me sound pretty stupid, but after I copied the file onto a CD and ran the CD, all that shows up is a readme that says boot from this CD. I don't know what else to do besides running it, and that just opens the readme.
