i'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum etc!

Hi!

Excuse my lack of knowledge, still trying to learn all this!

I have a game, that is written in C and compiled to java, but as well as having trouble with this, i wouldn't have any idea where to start about uploading it. Uploading is fine, but no idea how to use the CGI-BIn that is necessary for the game!

Would anyone be able to spend 10 minutes sometime just giving me a bit of advice/help?

The project in question is a variation of phantasia4, an open source game. All i want to do with it is to change certain attribute names to my own, but leave the game engine etc all the same!
Sounds so much simpler than it is!

If anyone could contact me about this, myself and the UK Clubbing scene would be incredible grateful!

Cheers!

If the game instructions are telling you that you have to put the game in your cgi-bin to run it. YOu will need to have Apache Web Server running on your Linux Box. http://httpd.apache.org/

It may be installed already, if you did a default install of Linux. What version of linux are you running. If Apache is installed you should have a directory /var/www/cgi-bin

My hosting supports cgi-bin, there is a folder when i use FTP. So that is all good. I think.

So i basically have many java files, in different folders, and i was told i have to compile them and then upload. I have customized the java files, but now the compiling is beyond me!

Many thanks for all your help, appreciate it a lot

I would post your questions on a Phantasia forum. I saw a couple of links to different support websites from you Link you posted above.
