Hi everyone, this is my 1st post, I want to know if there is a way of running software on a portable hard drive and take it from computer to computer? I have tried with programs like Adobe Photoshop but because of dll's loaded into windows it wont work.

Hi Darryl and welcome to TSG,
There are loads of free Portable progs at this site. All are adware/spyware free (etc). It's a well regarded site with a huge range of progs that you can run from portable drives.
Have a look at "About" then have a look at "All". There's also a very active & helpful free-to-join forum.

I hope this is of help to you?
    Richard.

    Lister,
Thanks, you are right! In my excitement at being able to understand and answer a question I got carried away!!
Now I've chilled enough to edit my mistake.

    Richard.

Squashman, those look awesome. Have you any experience of using them? I am currently using the Mojopac trial and liking it, though at the moment it seems a little limited in what can be installed but seems like it's being improved all the time.

Not used the Ceedo yet but it seems like you have to make two purchases for full use of the product, anyway thanks for the post and if you have any tips on Mojopac or Ceedo I would be much obliged if you would share them. Thanks again
