Safari

I have MacBookAir, and had strange problems.
1) Clicking on Safari, opened Apple product advertisements, The only way I could get
out of that was to 'force quit' Safari.
2) After some time 'Safari started, but the window size could not be reduced from full screen
3) After 2-3 days of Safari window problems, today the problem got resolved by itself, and Safari
is now functioning normally.

What could have caused this problem? A time limited hack?

In case a window (any window) again remains full screen, how should one restore it to normalcy?

I shall appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Preet

Sounds like an adware problem.

Download one of the free Adware applications like Sophos and see if anything shows up.
If you can't use Safari and don't have a second browser on your computer, you might have to use another machine and transfer via USB stick, email, etc.

Headrush,
Thanks for your response. But as I stated in my post, Safari problem got resolved by itself after 2-3 days.
1) Is it possible that 'Apple' became aware of a hack and fixed
the problem? Does Sophos block adware in addition to removing it?

2) How does one restore window sizing, in case a program window gets stuck in
full screen?

Thanks,
Preet

Not sure on either of these. I don't use Sophos anymore, so I don't know if it has active adware scanning.

You mean the keyboard shortcut? (Control + Command + F)
