I ran windows experience index on my rig, and got 5.9 for mem, and 5.8 for hard drive. NI then ran it on my games vista, and got 5.4 for mem, and 5.3 for HD. All the rest is a comfortable 5.9. Now, the question is, how come I get different results? I am not too bothered, because WIE is about as useful as a choccy fireguard anyway, but it would be nice to figure this one out.
As for why I think they should be the same, its because the rigs are the same. As in one computer, 2 OS installs. So.. any ideas people? Thanks :)

NO two rigs are identical, as each component may have a different rev level. The only way that two or more machines MAY be identical, is to be made right after each other by the same assembler. Then they may NOT still be the same.

Think you missed th epoint there Dave, sorry if I did not clarify well enough. I have 2 OSs installed on ONE computer, but the rating is different for each OS. So thatts one computer only, so its identical in that it is the only one<g>.
Any more help and guidance, please help! I did manage to tweak and get up to 5.8 and 5.6, but I cant get ridf of the discrpeancy. :)

The difference in the drivers for each OS will cause the numbers to be different.

What version(s) of Vista do you have installed on each partition or drive?

Both vista shouldbe identical, both are pre SP1, but carry all updates prior to that.I tens to update every so often manually, as I have no wish for windows to do it for me. I go through both systems and update with the same on each. :)
