My Samsung CLX 2160 laser printer was giving poor outputs in that the black text was faint. I replaced all the toner cartridges, but still get the same problem. The waste toner container was also replaced later. I have spoken to Samsung who were no real help. I've cleaned the nozzles and generally cleaned accessible bits of the printer. The test page shows colours that are reasonably good, but the black is faint. A manufacturer's repair will cost as much as a new machine.

Depending on the printer if you go through the options for the printer there should or might be a option to clean the print head. You could see if that option is available for your printer.

Just checked manual. There is no print head as it is a laser printer.

I'm sorry that I'm unable to be of direct help, but you might consider investing 10 bucks in a service manual. That would probably let you identify the problem, but that doesn't mean the part you need will be readily available or cheap. Samsung may be your only source. Just for grins, I looked at the parts list on samsungparts.com and the situation looks pretty bleak.

Dont feel too alone. I used to have a Xerox color laser that was a discontinued model, and when my paper pickup rollers wore out, Xerox would only sell the entire paper pickup assembly for $550. Guess how many Xerox printers I've owned since.

Even being a laser printer you should be able to go into the printer settings and have a clean option. Or to click on the printer through printers in control panel have the option to do a clean through some printers.
