Hi, I just purchased a new Samsung laptop model: NP-QX411-W02UB running WIndows 7. I'm having difficulties with the touchpad. Specifically, I am not seeing any options in the control panel to adjust the sensitivity. The touchpad registers a long click and a short quick as two separate things; as opposed to relying on a double click to open a file, the short click does so while a longer click is necessary if I just want to highlight a file. Any way of changing this? Also, is there any way to disable tap to click functionality? I hope that all is clear. Thanks in advance!

Go to Control Panel - Mouse to bring up the mouse properties window.

There should be settings that allow you to adjust or change the touchpad settings.

Here is the support site for your laptop.

Thanks for your reply. I've looked through all of the mouse settings within the control panel already and none of the fields listed pertain to any of my specific problems. It allows me to adjust the speed (both of the cursor and of the double-click), reconfigure primary and secondary buttons, turn on ClickLock, and provides multiple options for customizing the style of the pointer... but nothing to adjust sensitivity or address the whole long click vs. short click function. Any other ideas?

I'm surprised it doesn't have a setting to adjust the touch/tapping sensitivity.

I personally use an external wireless mouse because it's faster and easier to perform certain functions.
