I have a SATA 2.5 hard drive of 300Gb. It is corrupted as it leads my PS3 to turn off by itself.
Any bright ideas about how to remove corruption form it?
(I've tried all the methods in PS3, suggest something using pc. I've also formatted it many a times but the issue still prevails)
Please help and thanks in advance
    Regards

As you seem to be able to connect the drive to a PC, get the drive manufacturers disk tools and test the drive. (ie: If it's a Seagate drive, goto the Seagate website and get the SeaTools software). Depending on the drive brand, run the long and short test. If any errors are found, the drive is faulty and should be replaced.

If the tests are good, delete all of the partitions on the drive (using the drive software your downloaded above or Windows Disk Management), then shutdown and remove the drive. You can then reinstall the drive into the PS3 and partition/format the drive for use.

It's also possible that the drive is actually good, but the PS3 is faulty.
