Aare there any free or other wise programs that scan a document so it can be edited?

If you have a scanner/copier available that should be enough to scan your pictures and it should also have a program to edit your pictures too.
There is a free program called paint.net to edit pictures or anything else. I have never used it but heard it is a good program. You may want to look at it in youtube. Of course, there are other programs available for free or for a fee.

I'm looking for a program (free if possible)or a procedure that can scan TEXT into a word processor program
such as Word Perfect for editing. Any ideas? thanks

Most scanners come with a free OCR program?

Are you going to use Microsoft Word to do the editing ???? .... Then just use M$ Office to SCAN/OCR it.
What version of M$ Office do you have ??
