Scan to e-mail (Canon MF642C)

Hi everybody!

I have a question regarding setting my printer for sending scans to my e-mail.

Since I am not an IT specialist, I have done some research on internet on how to set scans to my e-mail and I have done following steps:

1) We have Outlook e-mail, the SMTP should be
2) After that, I added our e-mail (removed by Administrator)

SMTP PORT: I tried port 25 and 587, but neither of them worked.

Now, when the printer is sending the scan, it prints a paper after a while which says "Annoucement of sending outcome" and that´s it.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

If you are using GMail, you most likely need an App Password as your printer may not have the correct security to communicate to GMail, or if you have 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) turned on. Please create one in your G-Mail account.

To confirm, the settings should be
Username: your full GMail E-Mail Address
Password: The App Password
Port: 587, TLS= Yes
SMTP Auth may be required.

When you make changes, you will need to restart your machine.
