We just bought a CanoScan Lide 500F for work..... we scanned about 90 documents and now want to edit them. Problem is........ well, multiple, i suppose.........

1. When we try to print the pages........ some are overlaped (printed on top of one another) and unable to read.

2. Editing is almost impossible and frustraiting for sure.

3. When we want to save what we have to a disc...........it wont allow us to do so.

Any ideas?

All we want to do is scan the text, edit it and save it to disc........... there should be a frustrated smilie for such situations.

Thank you in advance........i will check back .

If you want to reliably scan and edit text documents, you need good OCR software, and I'm sure the Canon didn't come with it. Most scanners come with just basic software. OmniPage is one of the best.

Why you're not able to save documents or pictures to the hard drive of the computer is not related to the scanner. You just click File, Save in any app I've never seen. Are you trying to save them to a local hard drive, floppy disk, USB flash drive, CD-R, network drive, where?

Omnipage SE comes with your scanner and should be OK unless you are scanning forms. You usually need better software than what is bundled to scan forms.

Are you sure you are selecting OCR from the toolbox?
