I keep getting these weird discolored markings on the corners of my computer screen and I has spread over the las few months. I haven’t spilt anything on it or set something heavy on it. If you know how to fix it or how to stop it from spreading please let me know.

Hello Caitlynjens, and welcome to TSG.

I am seeing a darker pattern in the upper blue area of the one picture. If that is what you are referring to, and you have an LCD monitor, it looks like an LCD persistence problem. This is similar to a problem with older CRT displays called burn-in. It occurs if all or a portion of an unchanging graphic element is displayed for a very long time. Has the screen displayed a continuous, unchanging image for a long time?

On certain games or pages the screen doesn’t change in the corners but the laptop goes into sleep mode when it’s inactive.

If you consistently show the exact same stationary pattern on parts of the screen while actively changing things on other parts of the screen, the static areas could still show the effect.

You did not say what kind of screen is being used for the display. If it is an LCD, here is a link to a monitor manufacturer's page discussing the problem.
