Screen display is broken

    The screen on my acre laptop is only coming up with vertical lines, the display is “broken,” how do I fix this

    Hi, and welcome to TSG.

    1) Check if you get a normal display on an external monitor connected to the laptop.

    2) If you get normal display on the monitor, take the laptop apart enough to check the cable from the LCD panel, through the hinge, and to the motherboard for any breaks or loose connections.

    3) If the cable and connectors look undamaged and fully connected, the odds are that the LCD panel is broken. You could take a chance and buy a replacement LCD panel and see if that restores normal operation.
