screen goes black

    Anyone willing to help me out? My laptop screen goes black if i keep it idle for 5 min. Its not my screen saver as I have that set on 'bubbles' after 10 min. but that never ever gets a chance to comes on! When my screen goes black, nothing on my keyboard turns the screen on again eventhough all the power(lights and everything) is on. Really frustrating because I have to turn off/on the computer everytime this happens. I feel this started happening after I downloaded the VISTA updates.
    If anyone knows the answer to my problem...please help me.

    Have you checked "Choose when to turn off the monitor" under Power Options in Control Panel?

    Also check when your "sleep" mode is timed to come on. I have the same problem on a famil (Acer) laptop. I am still working on it but have been forced to temporarily turn off the sleep mode. (Which has solved the problem)
