Hey everyone I have been having some trouble with a laptop that I have just bought. It came out of the box working just fine on the first start-up, but after I rebooted it the screen won't come on when I start it. I reboot a couple of more times and eventually I'll get the screen to work. I called gateway support and they want me to send it back to them to fix the problem. I'm ok with that but I really would prefer to fix it now intead of having to wait for thme to send it back to me.

When I press the power button, the lights for the bower button the wireless button and the battery button all come on and I hear the beep of the computer turning on. I can here the little clicks with I think means data is being transfered from the hard drive. If I let it run for a little I can hear the Windows noise as it logs in. However, the screen is completly blank, the backlight is off and everything. I can hook the laptop up to a monitor and it works just fine. Also if I continue to restart the computer then I eventually can get it to come on.

    Any ideas? -Finalfxtidus
