You will probably need to update the Video Drivers. If you go into the Device Manager (Right Click "My Computer", Properties, Device Manager Tab), go to display adaptors and note the name of the device. Then, go into a search engine (www.google.com is pretty good at this) and punch in the name of the driver and then "+drivers".

For instance, if I wanted to update mine, I would type:
    "SiS 530" +drivers
With the quotes. You should be able to find a newer one.

go to display properties settings towards the bottom you will see display there is your card type.

Might want to D\L Aida32 it will give that info and so much more.

A google search turned this up.

    standard pci graphics adapter vga
This is not the name of your graphics card, go to www.cpuid.com download the PC wizard(on the top left hand side) and it will then tell you the model and manufacturer of the graphics card, with this info go to www.driverforum.com and download the drivers - hey presto you can view a lot more than 16 colours.

Do you have the drivers on disk for your sound card? If not go to the manufactures web site and d\l them to say a temp. folder. Then go back to device manager and delete all those with question marks. reboot, windows will load generic drivers. Install yours from disk or those you D\Led.

You have the SB 16 pci card right?
the drivers can be D\Led here . Go to device manager and tell me what it says.
