No matter how many times I set screen saver, after opening/using programs, the screen saver defaults back to "none" leaving me with "open screens" when I return to my computer. I use Windows Media Center and this is a brand new Dell E510 Dual Core desk top. Any suggestions? I have a dual monitor configuration.

Do you have multiple User Accounts, and does it matter which account the Screen Saver is set on?

Also have you tested to see whether the dual monitor configuration is a factor by removing one?

Are there any registry policies in effect?

    User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\
    Desktop]
    Name: ScreenSaveActive, SCRNSAVE.EXE
    Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
    Value: (0 = disable screen savers, 1 = default)

    User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\
    Defrag\Settings\DisableScreenSaver]
    Name: (Default)
    Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
    Value: "YES" or "NO"
