I don't know what the problem is with my computer, I attempted to fix it by just reformatting, however it did not fix a thing.

I would be things on my computer like surf the web or click around folders on desktop/mycomputer, my screen will randomly turn black for 1-2 seconds, then back on, sometimes it simultaneously does it and it gets extremely irritating.

After I reformatted, everything was fine, and nothing turned off. However I came back home from school today and it just continuously goes black for a few seconds then back on. I also attempted using Symantec AV to see if it was a virus, I have no infections.

Also, when I play games such as CS, it won't turn black at all, I don't know if this is some issue with hardware or whatever, can someone please help me resolve this?

    Thanks in advance.

Oh and I forgot, sometimes when I try to do something, my computer will freeze for a second, and restart its self...

    My setup :
    Intel E6600
    Gigabyte 965p-ds3 rev 3.3
    2 gigs of ram
    BFG 7950GT
    450W PSU

Hmm, my Firefox also closes randomly with no error or warning occasionally. I was just writing this message and it closed on me so I had to re-write it. I was wondering if it is possible to be a PSU issue? Because I have pretty much left my computer on since summer till now, I never shut my computer down.

EDIT: When I just leave my computer on, not touching it, nothing happens, Firefox doesn't shut down, my computer doesn't restart... Weird...

I don't think a bad psu would cause FF to shut down...that ram is good ram but perhaps you have a bad stick. I would download and run memtest86. It make a cd or floppy disk and you boot to it. Then run at least 4 complete tests and each test has 8 passes. www.memtest86.org
