Can I break into a screen saver, eliminate the noise or music it plays and save it so I don't have to mute the computer for when the screen saver pops up?

Can I also change around the animations in the screensaver itself? The screensaver I have is a Star Trek one of the Red Alert signal with pulsing red lines at the top and bottom. I want to make it so the graphic reads "Condition: Yellow" or "Condition Blue" instead of "Condition: Red" (see attached). I'd like to change the colors of the animation and the static display, too.

Most screen savers have a way to disable the sound in the settings tab on the screen saver screen of display properties.

About reverse engineering a screen saver, I really don't know. There are several different ways and programming tools that can be used to create the saver and I am not really a software engineer. I couldn't reverse engineer myself out of a paper bag.
