This is a strange one! When I open up my Outlook XP my inbox shows that there are 8 messages. When I click on the Inbox there is nothing in it. When i receive messages, i.e. 2 new messages, that number increases to 10. When I delete those messages, the number drops back down to 8. I have run a full virus scan on the system and everything checks out fine. My Norton Anti-virus caught a few files and quarantined them a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas on how to get my inbox back to normal?

It happened to me as well! And the solution was real simple for me :p Hope it works for you as well...

Go to View -> Current view -> (check the option "messages" or "by sender")

You will be able to see all the messages in the inbox.

    Hope this helps.
