I am in the process of building multiple workstations for our IT department. They will run Open Suse 10.2. If I wanted to create a script to create all of the parent/child directories for local users. What would be the most effecient way to go about this. The advice is much appreciated.

    Ryan.

Just a simple *nix shell script would do. You can type it up in no time.

Yes, fenderfreek's way is good. Another option is: Once you have one machine configured the way you want it, create a tarball from it. Then, simply extract the tarball on the other machines.

Is this a directory structure within their home directory? Is so, make use of SKEL if you think multiple users will be using each workstation at some point in time.
