    Hello,

I'm trying to find a script (or create one) that will grab data from NHL.com (player stats, team stats etc., but a starting point would be team stats). After Googling, it seems that Perl can do this, but I'm not able to find a building block, or starting point (I've never used Perl before).

Does anyone have any more information on this? Or able to help me get started? Ideally I'd like to pull information and store it into a MySQL database.

    Thanks in advance,
    Joey

I found Google Docs, and using the importhtml function, was able to make an Excel spreadsheet with the exact info I want.

Is there a similar function to importhtml, but for HTML? or PHP or any other coding language?
