I need to write a script or command file for windows 2003 Server to automate the running of various executables from the command line.

I need to be able to send various strings or keystrokes to these programs depending on the text output by these programs.

I need something similar to the waitfor and respond commands used in dialup scripts but to be applied to a command line window.

Does anyone know of such a tool if there is a scripting language that includes this functionality.

Regards

Craig

If the windows/DOS command line capability doesn't do it for you, you can add in the tools that are found in the resource kit. If the combination still isn't good enough (because it still sucks), you could install cygwin which would give you a bash shell and access to most of the available linux/unix commands as well.
