scroll bar

when i hit the scroll bar on the right hand side of my screen, it gives me too much of a scroll.
how do i shorten the scroll.?

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have Windows XP, Start> Control Panel> Printers and Other Hardware> Mouse> on the Wheel tab, you can set the number of line for each roll. Mine is set at 3 lines per roll. If other operating system, should be simular.

augie, thanks for the reply...........problem...........am using a laptop.
in control panel,(don't see printers & hardware). if i go to printers & faxes..............can't go to mouse.
if i go to mouse...................can't get to wheel tab.
please give me the sequence again

You should have mouse settings with tabs from the control panel. The settings depend on what drivers and laptop you have. You might have a tab for gestures or touchpad. Just check the different tabs for a setting for scrolling. See the examples here for ideas for settings on your touchpad.

augie, the only tabs under mouse are pointers, buttons, pointer options,hardware, device settings,touchpad 0n/off.
there are no tabs for scrolling or gestures.
