Well, here I am again. I hope that this is a settings issue and not a virus. Here is my system's info:

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 840T Processor, AMD64 Family 16 Model 10 Stepping 0
Processor Count: 4
RAM: 5887 Mb
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4200, 256 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 940553 MB, Free - 796643 MB; D: Total - 13212 MB, Free - 1621 MB;
Motherboard: FOXCONN, 2AB1
Antivirus: Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Updated and Enabled

What's happening is that when I use the scroll bar, either up and down or right to left and visa versa, it won't stay where I have moved it. It immediately goes back to the top or over to the left or right. It does this with the favorites in Explorer and with pictures I am viewing and/or websites on both Fire Fox and Explorer. It doesn't do it all the time. For example, on this website it works fine. It doesn't affect Fire Fox's favorites list either, only Explorer's.

I did a search of the forums and did not find any situation that matched.

Could someone please help?

moved to W7 as very unlikely to be malware related

Additional developments: now, whatever it is won't let me change the options on my computer. I can no longer change the power options, as the setting always moves back to the first choice. For example, someone told me to change my mouse settings, so I went in to decrease the speed. I wanted to set it at 2, but it now goes to 1, no matter what I do. So, I now have a really slow pointer. It's not a mouse problem because it also does this when I use the arrows on the keyboard. Very strange. It's like it's possessed. Any one have any ideas?

Have you tried another mouse?

If that's not it, try another keyboard.

Yup, have to agree with the above; it's almost certainly the keyboard or mouse that is at fault. Unplug one at a time while the issue is happening and see which one it is.

Thank you both. It was the mouse. And, all I needed to do was to unplug it and then plug it back in again:LOL:. All solved.

Many thanks again.
