SD card reader does not read my kodak camera

I have a sd reader on my Acer notebook and had no luck viewing the SD card. I then swapped an XD card from my Olympus camera and no problem viewing photos. I reinstalled the software that came with Kodak and it did not help as far as being acknowledged. I do not know why my notebook couldn't read the card, but it did read the XD card from my other camera. Are the readers limited?

Usually an sd card reader would read an sd card but not an xd card.

What is the exact model of your Acer laptop?
What is the capacity and type of sd card in your kodak camera?

I'll have to dig out my manuals to see if the sd slots in our Acer laptops (722 and V5) have a type and maximum capacity. I no longer use digital cameras (HP and Canon) so I haven't needed to read an sd card in ages.

Well maybe that is for SD card individual readers, but my Acer 722 had no problem reading my XD card.

@Abie2,

I've edited your post to remove to icons that were links to your YouTube Channel. There was no connection to that and the issue you posted about. Please refrain from posting such things as that goes against our spam/advertising rule which reads in part as follows:

Thanks for your understanding.

I don't own an xD cards to test.

Our 722, still running Windows 7, reads sd cards inserted into the sd slot with no problem. I have 9 sd cards. Brands are: SanDisk, Kingston, HP and Lexar. The classes are 2 and 4. The sizes are 4, 8 and 16GB. I have movies on these cards and have no problem either streaming from the card or moving a file to the 722 and watching from the internal hard drive.

I also took the sd card out of my very old HP camera. It only uses cards 256 MB or smaller! I put the card in the 722 and was able to open pictures I took in 2011. (No class mentioned on the cards because those small sizes were manufactured way before classes came into existence.)
I reinstalled the software that came with Kodak
You should not do that.
Note: I do not install camera software. If the card is taken out of the camera and inserted into the slot, it is simply read through file explorer and Windows built in Photo Viewer.

You can buy a USB card reader if you feel the sd card slot is not working. We own two of those and use them in computers that don't have sd slots.

Why not address your question to me since it was me who gave you the warning?

In your initial post you included two icons that were images of the letter A (similar to the avatar) but in fact they were links to Anthony's YouTube channel and not to any specific video.

Are you Anthony?

Yes, I am Anthony, but i do not know what your referring to... 'to ( two ) icons" in my post? Please show me for future reference, so I would not make the same mistake again. I did mention Kodak by name not an icon.
