Hiya guys,

Just built a machine which on the whole works fine.

The only problem I have is on boot up. 50% of the time, the system will go through the normal start up procedure, count the ram, beep, list all my hardware then freeze with the phrase "SDRAM at DIMM # :1". If i reset, then eventually the system will boot up with no ill effects.

I have tried different Ram, same problem. I have tried using a different Ram slot and I have the same problem. I have looked in the bios to see if there are any RAM settings and there is nothing.

This appears to be nothing more than an annoyance, but if anyone can help, I would be most grateful.

Cheers

Check to see if there are updates for your BIOS and chipset. If there's still a problem after updating, then perhaps you have a bad motherboard.
