SDRAM Layout

    Appreciate some assistance.

    How can one tell if a memory module (SDRAM DiMM) has a layout of 16MxN (16Mx8 or 16Mx16)?

    Have a mainboard with VIA MBP3 Chipset requiring the aforementioned memory layout before it recognizes SDRAM above 64MB.

    Don't quite know what to look for.

    Most of them say on tags what they are, unfortunetly I have never been able to understand what they wer as well.

    When you buy the memory stick just buy that type that you need.. That is what I have been forced to do. Usually on the stick though it does tell you what it is, does not give the math calculation, but total memory...

    Lists it's ram with the specs you are looking for, when you search for memory by motherboard.
