About a day or two ago, I noticed that when I launch Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer the browsers would directly go to the Microsoft homepage and google search results would show a list of ads (see attachment below). For both browsers, I have the browser settings set to show new tab/blank page. I've tried manually selecting "Use custom url" and adding www.google.com instead.

To tackle the Microsoft redirect AND the google search results ADS , I have done the following.
  1. I searched for homepage in the windows search and went to Internet Properties where it lists the Microsoft redirect links below as default. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=255141http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=255141
I have deleted these twice and set it to "use new tab" to no avail.
  2. I went to another earlier restore point (from a month ago), uninstalled Chrome and Firefox and reinstalled it BUT the homepage still redirects to Microsoft.
  3. I installed both CCleaners,Malwarebytes, Emisoft Malware/Antivirus program, but they couldn't find the problem.
  4. I have used Administrator command prompt and ran SFC /ScanNow but it gave me NO errors
  5. I have tried resetting Google Chrome settings
  6. I have turned off all Chrome extensions

In the registry editor I searched for "go.microsoft" and can find the links under SearchScopes which is set to Bing. I wasn't sure if I should delete or rename any files in the registry. See registry image in attachment below

Any help would be most appreciative.

Does anyone know what I should do next? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this
